This workshop is the second in a series of four risk mitigation workshops.  It is focused on how to prepare for recovery after a hurricane (or other major incident) occurs.  Discussion topics include emergency/disaster preparedness response and recovery; recovery timeline and the impact on the insurance industry.

At the end of this workshop, you will:

  • Understand the emergency management lifecycle with an emphasis on the recovery process;
  • Identify who should be involved in your recovery planning and the importance of their involvement;
  • Understand and explain the rarely discussed insurance implications that exist when a hurricane hits;
  • Identify steps you can take to plan for recovery in your organization and how to help your clients do the same.
