E&O Risk Management: Roadmap to Cyber & Privacy Insurance (Webinar) 10/13/2021
Wednesday, October 13, 2021 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
This course is designed to help insurance agents and brokers prevent E&O claims that result when a client discovers that his or her cyber exposures were not adequately addressed by insurance or other risk management measures.
This course begins with analyzing policies’ insuring agreements and key provisions, such as insured persons, insured organizations, defense/settlement, coverage limits, and retentions. The course will also examine the most common exclusions found within cyber and privacy policy forms, focusing on the manner in which such wordings vary from insurer-to-insurer, and explaining how these variations exert significant impact on the scope of coverage that cyber and privacy policies provide.
On completion of this course, you should be able to reduce the likelihood of errors and omissions claims by:
- Recognizing how cyber and privacy insurance is rated by insurers and identify the key factors that underwriters consider in pricing the coverage.
- Recognizing the effect of the key first-party property and third-party liability insuring agreements found within the policies.
- Recognizing how the following types of provisions operate within a cyber and privacy policy: (1) insured persons/organizations, (2) defense/settlement, (3) limits, and (4) retentions.
- Identifying the most important exclusions found within cyber and privacy forms, recognizing how different insurers’ versions of these same exclusions vary, and understanding how such differences impact the scope of coverage the policies provide.
