Additional Insured Endorsements - Beware! (Rich/Web) 04/01/2020

Wednesday, April 1, 2020 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

You may find yourself receiving frequent requests to add someone or something to policies, especially for general liability and business auto policies.  Are these additional insured endorsements necessary and important?  During this course, we will discuss coverage provided and what you need to consider before making a decision regarding "additional insureds".

Some topics discussed will include but are not limited to:

  • Insurable interest - what you'll need to consider in the case of a "hold harmless agreement", a waiver of      subrogation, and what would trigger the additional insured agreement.
  • Vicarious liability - what it means and how it could impact both you and your client including cases of negligence and independent contractors as the named insured.
  • Cases in which an additional insured relationship would be unacceptable and why.
  • Owners, lessees, or contractors - what you need to know.
  • Why and how location can impact an additional insured endorsement.
