Begin at the beginning. This course is the first of three that cover the foundations of insurance production. Principles of Insurance offers an overview of the insurance business, including the benefits of insurance, types of insurance company organization, distribution channels and the function of producers. It also examines the legal system and includes a discussion of torts, negligence, agency, contracts and the five parts of an insurance policy. This course also discusses the role of the producer as it applies to risk management, sales, and account development.

This will enable you to use your time in class as a review and ask questions of the instructor, giving you additional preparation time and a better understanding of the content.
